ASSOCIATE ADVOCATE

Salary: KES 50,000 – 60,000 Net (Based on Experience)

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Associate Advocate to join our growing law firm. The successful candidate must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 3–5 years of post-admission experience and a proven ability to manage legal matters independently.
The ideal candidate will possess strong legal drafting, litigation, client management, and business development skills. Candidates who have cultivated their own client portfolio or demonstrated the ability to attract and retain clients will have a distinct advantage.
Minimum Requirements
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate.
- 3–5 years of post-admission experience in a reputable law firm.
- Experience handling litigation, commercial transactions, conveyancing, employment, or corporate matters.
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong client relationship management abilities.
- Demonstrated business development and networking capability.
- Ability to manage multiple matters with minimal supervision.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Practice & Case Management
- Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.
- Draft pleadings, contracts, agreements, leases, legal notices, and other legal documents.
- Manage litigation matters from inception to conclusion.
- Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution forums.
- Prepare case strategies, submissions, witness statements, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor court schedules, filing deadlines, and compliance requirements.
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Provide timely and practical legal advice to clients.
- Manage client relationships and ensure high service standards.
- Participate in client meetings, negotiations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress and legal developments.
Business Development
- Contribute to business development initiatives and client acquisition efforts.
- Leverage professional networks to generate new business opportunities.
- Support the firm’s marketing, networking, and client engagement activities.
- Build and maintain a personal portfolio of clients and referral relationships.
Practice Administration
- Maintain accurate client files and legal records.
- Prepare fee notes and support collections where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the firm.
